Food safety & quality
Producing food that is safe, legal and consistent is the core responsibility of any prepared-meals manufacturer. Here is how Milestone Ventures approaches it — built into the process, documented, and taken seriously.

Our approach
Good food safety is not something you check for at the end of a production run — it is something you build into every stage of how a product is made. At Milestone Ventures, our processes are designed around a documented food-safety management system based on HACCP principles: identifying where risks could arise and controlling them before they do.
From goods-in through cooking, chilling or freezing, packing and dispatch, each step has defined controls and records. It is unglamorous, methodical work — and it is exactly what keeps the food we make safe and the businesses we supply protected.
How we manage it
Hazard analysis and critical control points underpin our processes, with the controls that keep food safe identified, monitored and recorded.
Allergens are managed deliberately — through recipe design, segregation, cleaning and clear labelling — to protect consumers and our partners.
Batches are recorded so ingredients can be traced through to finished products, supporting fast, accurate action if it is ever needed.
Cooking, chilling, freezing and storage are managed within defined temperature parameters and monitored throughout.
We work with approved suppliers and check incoming ingredients, because safe food starts with sound raw materials.
Documented cleaning schedules and staff training keep standards consistent across every shift and every product.
The wider framework
The UK food sector is governed by well-established food-safety frameworks. Schemes such as SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) and the BRCGS Global Standard, alongside food-safety management standards like ISO 22000, set out what professional food buyers expect from a manufacturer — and HACCP sits at the heart of all of them.
We design our systems and disciplines around the expectations these frameworks describe, so that our practices reflect the standards recognised across the industry. Where a specific accreditation is relevant to a partner’s requirements, we are happy to discuss it directly as part of a project.

In short
That principle shapes every recipe we accept, every process we run and every product that leaves our Harrow site.
